Anninthewinter Gets Cold

Grandma-made over-sized sweater; Forever 21 tee, faux leather skirt, thick tights and fringe purse; Target boots; birthday present from the boy body chain <3

This is the perfect outfit for walking around SoHo on a drizzly Thursday. This sweater my grandma made me is a bit heavy for LA most days, but it certainly kept me warm and snuggly during the day in NYC.
TopShop was a bit of a disappointment. I apologize for the whining/rant ahead of time...
I feel like everything I see out there today is so unoriginal. Everyone is following the same trends. Spikes, shoulders, sequins, ankle booties (the exact same ankle booties at that)... you get the idea. Don't get me wrong - I love these trends, in moderation. I'd love to show a bit of sparkle and add some flair on my shoulders and, let's face it, ankle boots are really functional! But I'm kind of uninspired when I keep seeing the same trends being done the same way each time. Show me something fresh! Add some color; add a different texture, a different length.
Anyway, that's mostly why TopShop didn't induce a bank-breaking spree. I did buy a couple of rings (a ram's head and a gold wrap-around leaf) that seemed pretty unique and I'm happy with that purchase. In fact, I'll try to post those sometime in the next few days.
Tomorrow is Black Friday. I work steps away from the Third Street Promenade (and yes, I have work tomorrow). I can only imagine the hoards of anxious shoppers filling the parking garages. I'm not going to lie: I will spend my lunch browsing and hopefully gaining back some inspiration.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Thanksgiving!! Don't forget to enter the Perricone Giveaway! I will announce the winner THIS WEEKEND!
